Landscape Builder is a professional editor extension for Unity that allows users to create realistic, detailed and consistent landscapes completely from scratch. It can generate topography, texture landscapes and populate them with trees, grass, meshes, and prefabs. It can control scene lighting, weather, and day/night cycles.

Designed from the ground up to be able to create an almost infinite variety of real-world results, it nonetheless is intuitive and easy to use so that you don't have to be a genius to achieve those results.

When using Landscape Builder, you won't have issues with compatibility (as it uses standard Unity terrains), no special plugins are needed to get good results and those very results can be achieved within half an hour or less! Above all, Landscape Builder just works.

Combine Lighting, Weather FX and Ray-traced Reflection

LB enables you to have the weather affect things like water and reflections on a road. The sky will darken as the clouds roll in casting shadows as they go. This is all possible with the following components within LB:

  • LB Lighting
  • LB Image FX

Water effects can dynamically appear on roads built with products like EasyRoads3D Pro v3 using shaders that ship with Landscape Builder. The same effect can be applied to any flat mesh surface.

Layer-based Topography

Easy to use - yet powerful

The Layer Based system operates by allowing you to add a number of layers, each consisting of data to generate topography with. There are presets available for the noise layers to assist you. LB has the ability to import external realworld heightmap data from SRTM or Terrain Party. If you'll looking something off-world, maybe you need something like LOLA data from the moon... all possible using Layers.

Several Layers can be combined to give your game the look you're after. We give you a lot of control, but give you simple, quick configuration options while prototyping a scene.

Map Path

Not just a path...

Map Paths in Landscape Builder are very versatile. They are created in the editor's scene view and then can be applied to a topography layer or used in texture, grass, trees and/or prefab placement. For example, you might want to create a river and produce a flowing river through integration with an asset like AQUAS Water. Or you may wish to stop grass from encroaching on a walking track through a forest.
